First Announcement 

You are invited to pre-register for this important event at www.encora.org.

 This conference will discuss and identify new European Action Plans for sustainable management of our coastal zones. These discussions will be based on the 10 thematic networks developed by ENCORA and published on the coastal wiki (www.encora.org/wiki).

 Renowned European experts have already contributed several hundred articles reflecting present knowledge, experience, practices and policies related to a great variety of coastal and marine topics. The Coastal Wiki will serve as a major source of information to help identify issues where present knowledge and understanding falls short to work out efficient policies and practices.

Participation to the conference is limited to a maximum of 180 people. Selection will be based on a combination of balanced participation across themes, balanced geographical representation and timely registration.

For registration you will be asked to indicate the theme that best fits your expertise. We will invite you during the months preceding the conference to participate in one of the thematic internet forums that will be organized to prepare for the conference.

The Action Plans will constitute an authoritative document reflecting the expertise of 1500+ ENCORA members from across Europe. They will generate new incentives to national and European research and they will influence the direction of future EC framework programs.
