Information Exchange Community

The national and theme networks will raise information-exchange communities in specific fields of coastal research and coastal practice, to learn from mutual experience. Groups will be identified sharing the same type of information and knowledge needs. Specific Websites will be created and operated by the network desks, by which these groups exchange information. This knowledge and information exchange mechanism provides access to grey literature and to knowledge that has not yet been published in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings. This medium may also be used in an interactive way, for instance, to launch specific information requests or to share expert opinions. The information exchange communities contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and to the development of European initiatives to jointly address urgent technological, methodological or scientific questions related to practical coastal issues.
